Rod Stewart praises Charlie Hole

“Stones on a Sandy Beach is a beautiful song.”
– Rod Stewart

“I would have been proud to have written that at age fifty, let alone fifteen.”
– Andy Hill, three-time Ivor Novello award winning song-writer

Charlie Hole is a singer-songwriter from Dorset, England, who has just finished his final year of high school. Even though he has achieved the highest grades, Charlie will not be going on to university.
He has other plans.
Since the age of eleven, he has been writing music and for the last few years, playing his songs in clubs and bars. This experience has nurtured his talents, allowing him to continuously grow and mature as an artist.

A random meeting with record producer Jim Cregan (Rod Stewart, Katie Melua) led to a series of recordings at Jim’s studio. Over the next year, working on weekends and school vacations, they recorded an album of Charlie’s original songs. These songs made such an impression on music publishers that Charlie has already signed a deal with Fujipacific for Japan and the Far East and other international publishing deals are imminent.

But Charlie is not doing this in search of fame or fortune. His aim is to be a respected songwriter and to perform his songs live. And Charlie is serious about this.
Recently, in a radio interview, Rod Stewart was asked whom he thought most interesting in the current crop of young artists. “Charlie Hole” he replied. “Stones on a Sandy Beach is a beautiful song.”
When Andy Hill, three-time Ivor Novello award winning song-writer heard Charlie, he could not believe that he had written the material at such a young age. “I would have been proud to have written that at age fifty, let alone fifteen.”
It is clear that Charlie’s rare gift for lyrics and his subtle, evocative vocals may give him the opportunity to reach an international audience,
one song at a time.
